Floods in 12 districts of Bihar, 23 lakh people affected: Fire station in UP's Bareilly flooded; Schools closed in 3 districts of Uttarakhand

In Bihar, flood-like situation has been created due to flooding in Ganga, Kosi, Gandak, Budhi Gandak, Punpun and Bagmati rivers. As many as 22.42 lakh people have been affected in 12 districts of the state. In Bhagalpur, about 4,000 houses near Sultanganj were submerged due to overflowing of the ring dam. Monsoon rains continue unabated in UP. In Bareilly, due to intermittent rains since Sunday afternoon, the fire station was flooded by up to 3 feet. At the same time, the water reached knee-deep to the kitchens and bedrooms of the houses. Meanwhile, due to the rains in Uttarakhand, all schools with anganwadi centers in Almora, Nainital and Champawat have been declared closed today.
