Hit-and-run on Chiloda-Himmatnagar highway: Woman killed after being hit by unidentified car near Naira petrol pump

A 52-year-old woman was hit by an unidentified car driver while crossing the road near Naira Petrol Pump on her way to Himmatnagar from Mota Chiloda in the limits of Chiloda police station in Gandhinagar. The woman who was seriously injured in the accident died on the spot and Chiloda police have registered a case and further investigation is underway. Car hit her while crossing the road to go to nursery Originally from Prantij in Sabarkantha district and now on the outskirts of Moti Siholi village, Lilaben, wife of Ranjitsinh Pratapji Makwana, who was living with her family at a government nursery on the outskirts of Moti Siholi village, had gone to Mota Chiloda yesterday afternoon to work as a domestic worker. Later, at around four o'clock, Lilaben was crossing the Chiloda-Himmatnagar highway road and was heading towards the government nursery on the opposite side of the highway. At the same time, an unknown four-wheeler driver who was coming at full speed and negligently hit her and fled. A case has been registered against the unidentified car driver. Lilaben sustained serious injuries in the accident and died on the spot. Following the incident, the people around gathered and the relatives and sons of the deceased woman, who were present at the nursery, immediately rushed to the spot after learning about the accident. When the incident was reported, a convoy of Chiloda police station as well as a highway ambulance reached the spot. The police have shifted the body of the deceased Lilaben to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital for postmortem and registered a case of unidentified driver and further investigation is underway.
