Surat News: The state government has stepped up relief and restoration work in the wake of the flood situation in Surat after record-breaking rains on July 7. The high-level meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister, was attended by Union Jal Shakti Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, MLAs and senior officials. After the meeting, Harsh Sanghvi said that the government has decided to allocate Rs 500 crore to ensure that the situation in Khadipur does not recur in the future. A mega plan will be prepared to find a permanent solution to Khadipur and work will be done on the basis of it.>

Harsh Sanghvi said that due to heavy rains in the upper basin, a serious situation was created in Surat. However, Surat Municipal Corporation and various departments of the government worked in coordination and brought the situation under control
CM has given clear instructions to the officials that strict action will be taken against the officials responsible if such a situation arises again in the future. It has also been ordered to prepare a foolproof plan to prevent creeping and to complete the first round of cleaning by this evening.
