Surat floods: Govt allocates Rs 500 crore to prevent floods, orders assistance to those affected

Surat News: The state government has stepped up relief and restoration work in the wake of the flood situation in Surat after record-breaking rains on July 7. The high-level meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister, was attended by Union Jal Shakti Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, MLAs and senior officials. After the meeting, Harsh Sanghvi said that the government has decided to allocate Rs 500 crore to ensure that the situation in Khadipur does not recur in the future. A mega plan will be prepared to find a permanent solution to Khadipur and work will be done on the basis of it.
