Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University: Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University (HNGU) in Patan has taken an unprecedented and drastic step to maintain transparency and discipline in the field of education. The university administration has decided to cancel the affiliation of 17 colleges in Patan and Mehsana districts with immediate effect.

Colleges for a long time, new admissions in all these institutes have also been completely prohibited for the academic year 2026-27. Due to this tough attitude of the university, there has been a huge uproar in the education world of the whole of North Gujarat.

Going into the details of the entire matter, the inquiry committee appointed by the university found gross deficiencies and irregularities in the administration, infrastructure and academic standards of these 17 colleges. The university has decided to terminate the affiliation after the conditions were not met despite repeated notices. However, in the midst of this drastic action, special care has been taken to ensure that the academic year or future of the current students is not spoiled. University authorities have said that the affected students have been allotted admission in other affiliated colleges nearby and alternative arrangements have been made for their studies.
