Husband attempts suicide after wife's separation: Man consumes phenyl after father-in-law threatens to send wife to in-laws, police complaint against father-in-law

In Bhavnagar, a young man attempted suicide by consuming phenyl after he refused to send his wife to her in-laws' house and threatened her. Rahul Deepakbhai Vaghela, 23, a resident of Nirmal Nagar Street No. 9, Bhaubhana Chowk, took this step. After the treatment, Rahul has lodged a complaint against his father-in-law at the Nilambagh police station. On October 4, 2025, he called up his father-in-law Nileshbhai Agecchania in Morbi, requesting him to forget his past grief and send his wife Priya home. However, his father-in-law Nilesh did not like this and started abusing him over the phone. He threatened Rahulbhai, "Forget my daughter and don't come to Morbi. If you come to pick up my daughter, I will break your ribs, I won't let you live." The next day, I got a call from Rahulbhai's wife Priya. Priya said that she wants to come, but her father is not ready to send her and is talking about divorce, but she wants to stay with Rahul. Rahulbhai was very impressed with this conversation. That same night, Rahulbhai drank four to five sips of phenyl kept in his house. His mother noticed and inquired as he started vomiting. Rahulbhai narrated the entire incident. His mother immediately called his brother and father. The family members put Rahulbhai on a motorcycle and rushed him to Sir T. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was treated there. He was discharged today after his health improved, after which he reached the Nilambagh police station along with his mother and grandmother Kailashben to lodge a complaint. The main reason for this incident is that Rahulbhai had a love marriage with Nilesh Agechania's daughter Priya, which was not liked by his father-in-law. So Priya is currently in her parents' house. Rahulbhai has filed a complaint against his father-in-law Nilesh for abusing him and threatening to kill him.
