During the 4-day remand received by the police, the accused Darshan Meswania will be interrogated strictly. In this interrogation, there is a strong possibility that the entire modus operandi of committing the scam as well as all the details of which colleges, universities or other big heads are involved in this scam. The documents, DVRs and other material of the students seized by the SOG police have been handed over to the B-Division police. The accused used to obtain original educational documents and identity cards like Aadhaar card from the students. After that, he used to open new accounts in Fino Payments Bank in his name, saying that the old bank accounts would not work. After obtaining OTP and biometric fingerprints, the accused used to keep the bank kits, ATM cards and SIM cards with him and withdraw the scholarship amount deposited by the government without the knowledge of the students. Preliminary investigations revealed that more than Rs 11.03 lakh of the Rs 24.44 lakh deposited in the accounts of 21 students had been embezzled. During the raids, the police seized 110 SIM card covers, 149 bank kits, nine mobile phones and suspected marksheets.
