An indefinite strike has been announced from today in the ongoing lawyers' agitation in the state against the Gujarat Rent Bill 2026. On Sunday, State Law Minister Harsh Sanghvi held an emergency virtual meeting with the office bearers, including the chairman of the Gujarat Bar Council. The Law Minister told the office bearers of the Bar Council that the government will constitute a high-level committee to rectify the shortcomings in the new fare bill and resolve it in the next 10 days

However, as there was no official statement or assurance from the government till evening, the lawyers announced an indefinite strike from today. On the other hand, the lawyers had earlier also organized a bike rally in protest against the rent bill. However, permission was not received from the police. So now a huge bike rally has been organized today. In which hundreds of lawyers are likely to join the bike rally.

This huge bike rally of lawyers will start from the city civil court Bhadra at 11 am and go to the metro court at Ghee Kanta and from there it will reach the village court at the Income Tax Old High Court. After that, the bike rally will turn into a public meeting by reaching the statue of Gandhiji near the Income Tax crossroads. On this side, the Gujarat Bar Council has announced its support for the lawyers' strike. At the same time, the High Court Advocate Association has also called an emergency meeting in the morning.
