'Who ordered 15 employees to get down from 200 feet?': Jaysukh Patel's Ajanta Energy Pvt Ltd drowns, no arrests made despite gross negligence: Congress

Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan here today, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) spokesperson Parthivraj Singh Kathwadia said that five innocent employees of the hydropower plant at Daulatpur in Lunawada taluka of Mahisagar district have lost their lives due to criminal negligence of the operators and officials. Ajanta Energy Private Limited, another company owned by Jaysukh Patel, an accused in the Morbi bridge scam, drowned at its 12 MW turbine plant on September 4 after five employees drowned. Why were the employees sent 200 feet down? The bodies of those who lost their lives were brought to the families by the hard work of SDRF at 50 hours. Despite being warned by written information about the release of 3 lakh cusecs of water by the Kadana dam, the big question is why the employees were sent to work 200 feet below. The warning information which was confirmed by Minister Kuberbhai Dindor through the media after the incident. Who ordered the 15 employees to be dismissed? At least 135 people lost their lives due to negligence during the bridge and now five people have lost their lives due to the negligence of the power plant. Did the Ajanta-Oreva Company learn any lesson from such gross negligence in the Morbi Bridge scandal? If there was an order to release 3 lakh cusecs of water from the Kadana dam, who ordered 15 employees to be lowered 200 feet? A complaint has been lodged with the mild sections of negligence, but is there no criminal negligence? Should this be a crime of manslaughter or not? Who is being saved?
