The 'My Bag' project has been launched under the Gujarat Livelihood Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission as part of the campaign to make Patan city plastic-free. The initiative has been launched by the social organisation branch of Patan municipality. This service is available at the public service center of the municipality near bagwada darwaza. This service will be available every Thursday and Friday from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Cloth bags are being made by the women of Neerja Sakhi Mandal. A sister from a self-help group has been made to sit on a sewing machine. Citizens can bring their old clothes and make bags free of cost. However, citizens will have to bring things like chain or button required in the bag themselves. The entire project will be spent from a grant from the Swachh Bharat Mission. This initiative will continue till October 31. The main objective of the project is to reduce the use of plastic bags from the city and contribute to environmental protection.
