Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday warned neighbouring Pakistan on the issue of Sir Creek while celebrating Vijaya Dashami in Bhuj. He said the recent expansion of military infrastructure by Pakistan in the Sir Creek sector reflects its nefarious intentions. He also said that if Pakistan dares to take any action in the Sir Creek sector, its response will be so severe that it will change both history and geography. Rajnath Singh's statement has revived the issue of Sir Creek. Pakistan has been strengthening its military infrastructure in its border areas in the Kutch sector over the past few years, especially in the Sir Creek area, which is at the root of the dispute. Following this, the Defence Minister had to come to Bhuj and make this threat to Pakistan. When Bhaskar inspected the area on the Pakistan side in Sir Creek through Google Earth, it was revealed that the Indian security forces and the defence minister had a strong say. In the last 10-11 years, Pakistan has built facilities including border outposts, jetties and watch towers on the Sir Creek side. There are three important border outposts of Pakistan in the 96-kilometre Sir Creek. However, we have also made preparations so that India can give a strong reply to any nefarious act.
