Randeep Hooda reaches out to flood victims in Assam, donates Rs 1 crore to Kartik Aaryan
Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda took part in a flood relief distribution event organised by Global Sikhs in Assam's Sivasagar on Saturday. He distributed ration and other essential items to the flood victims. Randeep Hooda paid obeisance at Gurudwara Sahib in Sivasagar and prayed for the well-being of the flood-affected Assam. He also took part in the relief work. Speaking to news agency ANI during the langar service, Randeep Hooda said that the affected families from the surrounding areas have reached Sivasagar railway station. He said that for the last seven days, food is being prepared and delivered to the people. He said that he has been associated with Global Sikhs for many years. Randeep Hooda appealed to the people to help the needy by directly participating in the relief work, offering prayers or giving financial assistance to relief organisations. According to a report by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 82 people have died due to floods in the state so far. Apart from Randeep Hooda, Bollywood celebs like Kartik Aaryan and Salman Khan have also come forward to help the victims of the devastating floods in Assam. Salman Khan through his charitable organization 'Being Human' launched a multi-level relief campaign in the flood-affected areas. According to Mid Day, Being Human partnered with its local fan club to work on the ground in Assam. In the first phase of the drive, cooked food packets and other essential items are being distributed in the flood affected areas. Kartik Aaryan donated Rs 1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media to express his gratitude for the huge help extended during this time. Actress Alia Bhatt expressed grief over the devastating floods in Assam. Alia said that this tragedy happens every year, yet people are not prepared. He promised to share information about relief organisations soon. On the other hand, actor Ayushmann Khurrana and his wife Tahira Kashyap donated money to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
