The police have initiated strict action against bogus doctors who are compromising the health of the people in Tapi district and running illegal clinics without qualified degrees. A bogus doctor who was practicing allopathic under the guise of a BHMS degree from Chakwan village of Songadh has been arrested. From him, Rs. A quantity of allopathic medicines and medical goods worth Rs. 67,046/- have been seized. The team of Tapi SOG was patrolling in the Songadh area when the AAPCO. Akshay Kumar Kantilal received a confidential input. According to the information, a person was practicing illegally in a rented house near the bus stand in Chakwan village without any authorization. On the basis of this information, the police along with Priyankaben Chaudhary, the medical officer of the Gunkhadi PHC, conducted a surprise raid at the place of information. During the raid, the police nabbed a person named Manishbhai Prakashbhai Sonawane (30, R/o Songadh, Sateshwar Nagar, Tapi). The police investigation revealed that the accused Manishbhai had a degree of Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS). However, he did not possess any competent qualifications or certificates to provide allopathic medicines or run an allopathic clinic with beds. Various allopathic medicines and medical equipment were recovered from the clinic, the total value of which is Rs. 67,046/-. The police have seized all these items. In this case, A.H.C. On the basis of the complaint of Hirenbhai Chimanbhai, a case under BNS Section 125 and Section 30 of the Gujarat Medical Practitioners Act has been registered against the accused at Songadh police station and legal action has been initiated.
