Pledge to conserve trees: A green corridor of 6,000 trees has been created with the joint efforts of FLO Vadodara and Western Railway

A tree plantation program was held today (October 1) at Railway Colony near Chhani Jakat Naka in Vadodara. In a historic initiative to make the earth greener, FICCI FLO Vadodara along with Western Railway started planting 6,000 trees in Vadodara as part of the Swachhata Pakhwada campaign. The plantation drive is a part of FLO's National Sustainability Initiative This massive tree plantation drive has been a part of FLO's National Sustainability Initiative. It has been encouraging mindful lifestyles through activities such as recycling, reducing carbon footprint, and increasing green cover. By converting underutilized railway land into green belt, FLO Vadodara and Western Railway have made efforts to improve the air ratio. FLO Vadodara conducted a number of programmes including wet-waste composting programmes Apart from the tree plantation, FLO Vadodara also spearheaded other national level sustainability efforts such as wet-waste composting programs, e-waste recycling drives, clean-energy awareness campaigns. This initiative is aligned with FLO's vision to build a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future by empowering women, especially women. Today 6,000 trees were planted. Speaking on the occasion, Shivani Patel, President, FLO Vadodara said that tree plantation is not just an environmental act, it is a commitment for the future generation. FLO Vadodara felt proud to build a green corridor in collaboration with Western Railway and is confident of inspiring citizens to adopt sustainable practices in daily life. Today, about 6,000 trees have been planted. We are trying to make the environment clean for our health. A borewell has been dug here and three people will cultivate it. This tree gets proper water and does not require much trimming.
