Migrant girl reunites with family in Vadodara: Family reaches Vadodara after 38 hours journey from Bihar, Child Helpline team's efforts succeed

A migrant girl aged between 12 to 13 years who was found alone at Vadodara Railway Station was successfully reunited with her family in Samastipur, Bihar with the coordinated efforts of Child Helpline Team, Child Protection Unit and Child Welfare Committee. The family travelled for 38 hours to reach Vadodara and the girl was safely handed over to her family after verification of necessary documents. T.A. On 25th July, 2026, a teenage girl named 'Payal' was found alone by RPF at Vadodara Railway Station. During interrogation, it was found that she had come to Vadodara with her mother from Samastipur in Bihar. He said the mother had come to Vadodara with another unknown man and the girl was allegedly subjected to mental torture and physical injury. The teenager then reached the railway station after she was thrown out of the house by an unknown person. The Child Helpline team conducted a health check-up of the girl and presented her before the Child Welfare Committee. The teenager was given shelter at Sitare Institute under the guidance of the committee. Meanwhile, the girl, who is said to have seen her mother's house in Vadodara, searched the places mentioned by the organization's staff, child helpline team and women police staff several times, but to no avail. Eventually, the Child Helpline Team, Vadodara contacted the Samastipur Child Helpline in Bihar and communicated with the girl through video call. In the meantime, the family of the girl was contacted with the help of Samastipur Child Helpline and the family said that the girl was their daughter and expressed their readiness to come to Vadodara to pick her up. On August 8, the girl's family travelled for about 38 hours from Samastipur, Bihar, to reach Vadodara. There was an atmosphere of joy among the family as the girl was safely handed over to her family after verifying the necessary evidence and documents. The Child Welfare Committee, Child Protection Unit, Vadodara Railway Police, Bihar Police, SITARE Sanstha, Vadodara and Child Helpline Team Bihar were involved in the entire operation. The coordinated efforts resulted in the reunification of the distressed teenage girl with her family.
