Bus stands in a dilapidated condition due to lack of maintenance in Bharuch: Shops and dogs are piled up instead of passengers at the ruined bus stand, students suffer a lot

Most of the pickup bus stands in the rural areas of Bharuch district have turned into a dilapidated condition due to gross negligence and lack of maintenance by the local gram panchayats. These bus stands are usually built with a grant from the local MLA or financial support from donors. But once it is built, it is not maintained or repaired for years. As a result, they have become ruins. At present, the situation is such that illegal shops are running in some bus stands. In some cases, stray dogs have set up their nests. Due to this pathetic condition, school going students and daily commuters are forced to stand in the open outside the dilapidated bus stand to wait for the bus. Especially during the scorching summer heat and the rainy monsoon season, the woes of the passengers increase manifold. People have to suffer a lot due to lack of roof over their heads in this season. It is to be noted that even though all these bus stands are located within the limits and premises of the Gram Panchayat, no steps are taken by the Panchayat for their repair or maintenance. Tired of this apathy of the administration, locals and commuters are now demanding that the system be woken up at the earliest. This dilapidated bus stand should be properly maintained. Strict measures should be taken to create the facility.
