Elections to 133 gram panchayats in Valsad district will be held on June 22. In this election, general elections of 64 gram panchayats and by-elections of 69 gram panchayats will be held. The rule that has been going on by the administrator for the last two and a half years will now come to an end. Political activities have gained momentum as soon as the state election commission announced the elections. There is enthusiasm among the youth leaders of the village and workers of political parties. The last date for filing nominations is June 9. Scrutiny of nominationpapers will take place on June 10. District BJP general secretary Shilpash Desai said bjp dedicated candidates will win based on the development works of the central and state governments. The BJP has chalked out a strategy to make all gram panchayats samras. Gram panchayat elections involve individual popularity and panel-based voting. The local influence of the candidates and the contribution to the development of the village becomes important. Leaders in every village are trying to win seats with their own team. With this election, the democratic process will be revived in rural areas of Valsad district. Political activities will be seen in every booth and ward.
