Ahmedabad: On the occasion of GST Day, a voluntary blood donation camp was organized by the State Tax Parivar at Rajya Tax Bhawan. The camp was organized in association with Gujarat Cancer Research Institute (GCRI), Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. A total of 105 units of blood were collected in the camp. A significant success of the programme was that around 50% of blood donors had donated blood for the first time. A large number of women employees also fulfilled their responsibility towards the society by donating blood enthusiastically. All the stakeholders including officers and employees of the State Tax Department, Ahmedabad Vyapari Mahamandal, Gujarat Tax Bar Association, contractual employees of IT system, management branch, rangoli team, Safai Karamcharis, Peon Mitras, Decoration Service employees, and canteen staff made significant contributions to make this event a success. Chief State Tax Commissioner Shri Rupwant Singh, Special State Tax Commissioner Sujit Kumar and Additional State Tax Commissioner Arvind Vijayan were present on the occasion. He applauded the service and dedication of all the blood donors and staff involved in the event. The Gujarat Cancer Research Institute (GCRI) appreciated this service of the State Tax Department and expressed gratitude by presenting a certificate. It was expected that such public interest and philanthropic programmes would continue in the future as well.
