Gujarat teacher gets job back, 17 years after his death

In a significant ruling, the Gujarat High Court has overturned a state government order that sought to cancel a teacher's appointment 33 years later, and 17 years after his death. The court found it unacceptable for the state to question an appointment regularized decades ago, especially after granting a family pension to the deceased teacher's widow. The bench emphasized that such belated challenges are not permissible.
