PM Narendra Modi inaugurated CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test Facility at Sanand. CG Semi Private Limited, a subsidiary company of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited has commissioned OSAT facility in Sanand at a cost of Rs 7600 crore. This project is one of the first four projects to be approved under the India Semiconductor Mission. Speaking at the inauguration, PM Modi said, "Whatever India decides, it does. Moving forward with the mantra of Make in India, PM Modi started the commercial production of chip packaging in the country's third plant. He also said that the plant will produce 20 crore chips every year. The target is to make 500 crore chips every year. The company currently employs more than 300 people. The Plant will generate five thousand direct and indirect employment opportunities in the next five years.
