The Zoz police in Chhota Udepur district have arrested seven persons for gambling in Singlaja village. Based on a tip-off received by the police, a raid was conducted under a mahuda tree at Pujara Phalia in Singlaja village. The accused have been identified as Shabirbhai Nayaka of Mandalwa, Pravinbhai Rathwa of Tejgarh, Popatbhai Harijan of Chhota Udepur, Munaf Gohil and Remansha Diwan of Jetpur Pavi, as well as Sahilkhan Pathan and Altafbhai Pathan of Chhota Udepur. The police have seized Rs 4,680 in cash at stake and Rs 7,860 from the body. A Maruti Eeco car, a Splendor motorcycle and a mobile phone worth Rs 1,53,040 were seized. Three men managed to escape during the raid. The Zoz police have registered a case in the matter and started further investigation. It is worth mentioning that with the onset of monsoon in the district, the activities of Shravaniya gambling increase.
