The repair work of the dilapidated shop located in the municipality complex near Bagwada gate of Patan started on Friday. The contractor started the work without any kind of safety. There was vandalism going on above the shop. Three shops were open below. The breakfast lorry was also working ahead. There was a steady movement of people there. However, no precautions were taken. The labourers who came to work did not have helmets on their heads. No net of any kind was installed. So there was a possibility of injury to someone when the stones fell down during the vandalism. According to experts, for construction safety, it is mandatory for every laborer to provide HDP helmets, gunboots, glasses and jackets after training. Before starting the repair work of the dilapidated building, the permission of the surrounding shops has to be taken and the movement has to be stopped. Thick nets have to be installed around the building so that the stones that come flying during the demolition do not hit anyone directly. Special precautions need to be taken while working in a public place.
