The work of demolishing the railway overbridge in Vapi Municipal Corporation area is underway. Due to this, the ban on traffic has been extended till December 31, 2025. Valsad district magistrate Bhavya Verma has issued a notification in this regard. In view of the request of the Executive Engineer, the ban, which was earlier imposed till May 31, 2025, has now been extended from July 1 to December 31, 2025. The demolition of the bridge, located in railway chainage 172/16-18 area, is yet to be completed. Heavy vehicles will be able to pass through the Balitha gate. However, only school buses and ST buses will be allowed between 10 am and 12 am and 5 pm to 8 pm. Railway underpass, new gate, graveyard road and custom road are available for small vehicles up to 3.5 meters height. Mohangam Phatak and Nahuli underpass can be used for the Mumbai-Daman route. The Motiwada overbridge to go towards Valsad-Surat-Daman will be open for all vehicles. Only two-wheelers will be able to pass through the old Garnala underpass. The alternative arrangement will remain in force till the existing bridge between Vapi-Chala is completely demolished. This decision has been taken to maintain traffic order and maintain law and order.
