Two unidentified rickshaw drivers booked for robbing a student of Rs 62,000 after showing a knife to a student near Dighri

A gold ring worth Rs 62,000 was looted at knifepoint near Dighadi village in Patan. The incident took place with a student returning from Dharpur Civil Hospital after document verification. Balisana police have registered a case against two unidentified rickshaw drivers and further investigations are on. Jignesh Kumar Natwarlal Patel, a 19-year-old resident of Marutinandan Society in Unjha, was on his way to Unjha after getting documents verified for MBBS admission to Dharpur Medical College. At that time, a rickshaw driver came and asked Jignesh Kumar to go to Unjha and put Jignesh Kumar in the rickshaw. The rickshaw driver was wearing a black T-shirt with 'Mahakal' written on it, while the other person sitting with him was wearing a dark checks shirt. During the journey, a rickshaw was parked near a tobacco hut between the temple of Sadhimata in Dighadi village and Kuder Patia. The two men got down from the rickshaw and then came back to the rickshaw. The driver pulled out a large toothed knife from under the seat and placed it on the student's neck. The other man held Jignesh Kumar's hand. Panicked, the student took out a tola gold ring on his right hand, which was worth Rs 62,000. After committing the robbery, the two accused dropped the student on the road and fled towards Unjha. A case under various sections of the BNS (Indian Nyaya Sanhita) and the GP Act has been registered at Balisana police station and further legal action is being taken.
