A capacity building training programme for newly elected Panchayat functionaries under RGSA was conducted at Tithal Swaminarayan in Valsad district. The programme aims at accelerating rural development and making Panchayati Raj Institutions more effective. In-charge minister Nareshbhai Patel and cabinet minister Kanubhai Desai were present at the training programme. He was accompanied by MLAs, various leaders and Panchayati Raj functionaries. During the training, the newly elected functionaries were provided guidance on Panchayati Raj System, principles of good governance, effective implementation of developmental schemes and people-centric functioning. The speakers emphasized the crucial role of Panchayati Raj Institutions in the holistic development of rural areas. He said that through empowered leadership, proper guidance and effective training, rural development works can be accelerated and benefits of government schemes can reach the last mile. The main objective of the programme was to develop leadership skills among the new functionaries and to make the functioning of Gram Panchayats more transparent, accountable and result oriented.
