The water level in the Dev river increased due to the release of water from the Dev dam. As well as the rains, Waghodia was flooded all around. The Sumandeep Vidyapeeth complex in Pipliya was also flooded. Opposite the college is the Lakshmi Hostel. Students living in the area were trapped when the water was flooded late last night. On being informed about the matter, the Mamlatdar immediately contacted the Vadodara Fire Brigade. The fire brigade personnel and the local police jointly carried out the rescue operation. In a three-hour rescue, 100 girls and 50 students were rescued safely. At the same time, about 10 labourers were also trapped there. They were also evacuated. All of them were shifted to Lakshmi Studio near Ajwa Chowk adjacent to the city.
