Robbery with senior citizen on morning walk: Two gangsters escaped after snatching gold chain from their necks near Kamlanagar lake on Ajwa Road

A gang has become active in Vadodara's Ajwa Road area targeting senior citizens who were out for a walk in the morning. A 61-year-old retired man was snatched from his neck by two unidentified men who were riding an Activa while he was walking near Kamalanagar lake in the morning. Arthritis struck from behind while walking Premchand Harishankar Yadav, a retired resident of Bhagyalakshmi Township on Ajwa Road, goes for a walk at Kamalanagar lake every morning. On the day of the incident, at around six thirty am, they were walking around the lake when two unidentified men came on the Activa. The driver of the Activa had parked the vehicle at some distance when the man sitting behind Premchandbhai came behind Premchandbhai on the pretext of walking and suddenly snatched an 11-gram gold chain worth Rs 65,000 from his neck. A complaint was lodged at Bapod police station. After snatching the chain, the accused quickly fled on the road towards Dattanagar in an Activa. The elderly man was terrified by the sudden incident. According to him, both the accused were wearing white shirts and black pants. In this regard, Premchandbhai lodged a complaint at the Bapod police station, and the police registered a case and got the CCTV footage of the vicinity and set the wheels in motion to nab the gangsters.
