Vaswani Colony in Warasia area of Vadodara city has created an atmosphere of fear among the locals due to the disturbance caused by anti-social elements late at night. A mob of 4 to 5 men pelted stones at houses and vandalised vehicles. Three innocent residents, including a woman, were injured in the violent attack. The entire incident of stone pelting has been captured on CCTV. Locals have lodged a complaint against bootlegger Vishal Lalwani and his accomplices at the Kumbharwada police station over the incident. Activa and rickshaw vandalised and fled.
According to the police complaint lodged by Pritiben Shankarlal Belani (36), a resident of Vaswani Colony and a catering worker, He was at home with his daughter at around 10.15 pm on August 5. In the meantime, Vishal Ashokbhai Lalwani, who lives near Bhathuji temple, rushed there along with three of his unidentified accomplices. Vishal dropped the Activa parked outside the house and the men with him pelted stones and vandalised vehicles including rickshaws. All the assailants fled the spot as soon as the woman came out. Prior to the incident, the accused had stopped the tempo of local resident Jaswant Ratiram Aherwar on the road and tried to fight with him. When Jaswantbhai somehow managed to escape and reached home, within a few minutes, the accused started pelting stones indiscriminately at his house. Jaswantbhai sustained serious injuries on his right elbow, his sister-in-law Renukaben on his left hand and his wife Rajkumariben on the head. The incident was immediately reported to the police by the '112 Jan Rakshak Service' and a police convoy rushed to the spot. Locals have alleged that Vishal Lalwani and his gang have been indulging in bullying and antisocial activities in the area for a long time. The Kumbharwada police registered a case on the basis of the woman's complaint, seized the CCTV footage and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
