Heavy rains affect Western Railway's train services, several trains cancelled: Sayaji Nagri Express train to Kutch short-terminated, Virar to Borivali cancelled

Train services on the Western Railway have been severely affected due to extremely heavy rains and waterlogging at various stations in Mumbai and surrounding areas. Several local and long distance trains have been cancelled or short-terminated before their destination due to waterlogged conditions. According to the Western Railway, Dahanu Road-Borivali passenger train number 69174 has been short-terminated at Virar, and the service between Virar and Borivali has been cancelled. Train No. 69139 Borivali-Valsad MEMU will now depart from Virar instead of Borivali. Also, Mumbai Central-Vapi (59045) and Vapi-Mumbai Central (59040) trains have been completely cancelled. Long distance trains have also been affected due to the rains. Azamgarh-Bandra Terminus Express (05183) will be short-terminated at Sanjan, Surat-Virar Express (19002) via Umargam Road, Ahmedabad-Bandra Terminus (12934) to Valsad, Jodhpur-Bandra Terminus (12479) to Vapi, Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central (12932) to Surat, Jaipur-Bandra Terminus (09705) to Udhna and Ajmer-Dadar Express (12990) at Navsari. Train No. 20908 Sayaji Nagri Express has been short-terminated at Ankleshwar due to heavy rains. Train number 20907 will now depart from Ankleshwar at 8 pm instead of Dadar. The Bandra train from Bhavnagar, which arrives at Valsad at 4.50 am, has been short-terminated at Valsad due to rain. Western Railway has appealed to passengers to check the latest train status before travelling and plan their journey accordingly. The railway system is constantly monitoring the situation in the wake of heavy rains and waterlogging. A major accident was averted on Bhayandar Bridge According to Western Railway, the safety steel railing of a span bridge collapsed during heavy rains and strong winds, prompt measures were taken to secure the affected railing and restore a safe condition. The track was made safe for train operation to ensure safe train operations.
