Trains halted in Navsari-Valsad due to heavy rains in Mumbai: BJP distributes food packets to passengers stranded throughout the day

Low-lying areas and railway tracks were waterlogged due to heavy rains in Mumbai. This resulted in the disruption of rail operations on the Western Railway. Trains were stopped at railway stations in south Gujarat, including Navsari and Valsad, after several trains between Ahmedabad and Mumbai were affected. Thousands of commuters were stranded due to the halt of trains. Passengers including children, women and the elderly at railway stations had to suffer for food and drinking water throughout the day. Despite the plight of commuters throughout the day, local political leaders in Navsari realised the need to help late at night. Navsari leaders became active after seeing videos on social media of politicians extending help at other railway stations. Late at night, the Navsari district BJP organisation arranged food for the stranded passengers at Navsari railway station. Navsari district BJP president Bhurabhai Shah and Navsari mayor Ashok Dhorajia along with other prominent BJP leaders and workers reached the police station. He distributed food packets and water bottles to the passengers.
