In the last few days, five simultaneous systems of rain have been active over Gujarat, which has shaken districts including Surat, Navsari, Gir Somnath. At present, the intensity of rain will decrease in the next 24 hours as two systems are weakening. In the last 24 hours, 60 talukas have received rainfall, with the highest rainfall of one and a half inches in Nanapodha of Valsad. On the other hand, only one Garudeshwar taluka of Narmada has received 1 mm rainfall from 6 am to 8 am today. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rains in south Gujarat today (July 9) due to the active well-marked low pressure and 2 troughs. Notably, the state has received 6% less rainfall so far. Saurashtra-Kutch has received 18% less rainfall than the average so far. South Gujarat has received 5% more rainfall than normal so far.
